Hi there! I'm Brian Shannon, a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about guiding individuals out of the trap of Unwanted Sexual Behavior, and assisting couples devastated by the trauma of betrayal.
My approach
The research shows that more than any particular counseling theory, the most important ingredient to effective therapy is the connection between you and your therapist! More than anything else, a mutual sense of trust and safety is the key to growth and change. I am committed to providing a safe, judgment-free space where you can experience kindness, compassion, and empathy even in your story's most shameful parts. When we finally experience being more truly and fully known with unconditional love, our hearts come alive.

Born from the trenches of my own healing journey, my gift is helping others who feel broken and filled with shame find freedom, healing, and wholeness. We all have a story often fraught with pain, even trauma, which prevents us from overcoming obstacles and achieving our goals. I am dedicated to helping you navigate any challenge and relationship.
My communication style
Most clients will affirm I am quick to establish safety, trust, and rapport. Having my therapy bernese/labradoodle, Hope, as a comforting presence in the office helps to quickly put clients at ease. Most clients describe me as a very good listener who is able to offer wisdom and guidance without judgment or condemnation. I am not afraid to model vulnerability by giving clients a peek behind the curtain of my life to offer them hope in the midst of their distress.
