Hi there, I'm Wendy!

Welcome to Rula and thanks for allow me to join you on this therapeutic journey. As a licensed professional counselor, I approach therapy with a deep sense of empathy and respect, creating a safe and supportive space for you to explore and understand your emotions. I believe in the power of collaborative healing and will work alongside you to develop personalized strategies that foster resilience and growth. Through a compassionate and holistic perspective, my goal is to empower you on your journey toward well-being and self-discovery.

My approach

In my practice, I combine the strengths of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), theoretical interventions to address your unique needs. This integrative approach ensures a comprehensive and personalized experience that promotes healing, growth, and lasting change. My goal is to provide a compassionate and supportive environment where you feel empowered to navigate life's challenges and achieve your full potential.

My focus

In my practice, I provide compassionate support tailored to clients aged 13 and up. I have experience helping individuals navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, relationship issues, sexual intimacy concerns, and porn addiction. As an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, I am also a registered play therapist, trauma-certified, sex therapy certified, and an OCD specialist with expertise in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). My goal is to create a safe and affirming space where you feel heard and empowered on your journey to wellbeing.

My communication style

Therapy sessions with me are calming and supportive using a virtual platform, making it convenient for you to connect. Our sessions are conversational and collaborative, where I not only listen, but also share my insights and strategies to help you reach your goals. Many clients have described their therapy experience with me as safe, warm, encouraging, and very helpful.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist because I've always had a deep passion for serving and helping others. From a young age, I found immense joy in listening to and supporting those around me. This passion led me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in people's lives. Every day, I am inspired by the courage of my clients to show up for therapy and process difficult topics to heal and grow. Their commitment and dedication drives me to always show up, continue to grow professionally in this field, and serve as a guide and teammate, supporting them in making life-changing decisions that often contribute to an improved well-being, happiness, and a healthier way of living.

My goals for you

Establishing goals is crucial to having direction and focus on the therapeutic journey we are embarking on. Together, we will collaboratively discuss your goals, needs, and aspirations. I will listen carefully and share proven strategies to help you navigate your journey. Our collaboration ensures that your therapy is both effective and encouraging.

My first session with you

During your first therapy session, you can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere where you feel comfortable sharing your story. We'll take the time to discuss your goals and what you hope to achieve from therapy. I'll listen attentively and answer any questions you may have, ensuring you feel understood and supported. Together, we'll create a plan tailored to your specific needs, setting a positive foundation for your therapeutic journey.
