Hi there, I'm Mark!

Mark Tuvelle strives to provide a safe and welcoming environment and always wants to ensure that his clients feel they are “being listened to.” Mark believes a provider must truly listen to understand his client’s concerns, thus ensuring that their priorities are being addressed. He believes that communication lays the foundation for any effective partnership and that successful psychiatric care begins with open, honest, and genuine communication between provider and client, with an overall goal of helping the individual enhance all aspects of health and overall well-being using a holistic approach. Mark prioritizes health promotion, patient education, and psychotherapy with his clients. He wants his clients to take an active role in their own treatment plans/decisions, which greatly improves the development, implementation, and overall success of goals and the long-term stability of their symptoms. He has enjoyed working with a diverse patient population in a variety of clinical settings. Mark has been practicing as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Psychiatry/Mental Health since 2020 and is driven and dedicated to providing the highest quality of care he can to each of his clients. Prior to this, Mark worked as a psychiatric nurse for eight years. Mark treats patients of all ages across the lifespan.

My approach

I typically use a holistic and patient-centered therapeutic approach, integrating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, medication management, and psycho-education to address mental health issues. I emphasize building a strong therapeutic alliance with patients, establishing trust, promoting self-awareness, and empowering individuals to navigate their mental health challenges effectively. Additionally, I may incorporate psychopharmacology interventions when necessary for symptom management and stabilization.

My focus

I provide care for patients with various mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and other psychotic conditions.

My communication style

Typically, I utilize an open and empathetic communication style when interacting with my patients. I emphasize active listening, validating feelings, and providing a non-judgmental and supportive environment for patients to express their thoughts and emotions. I also employ therapeutic communication techniques such as reflective listening, clarification, and summarization to understand patients' concerns and experiences better.

My goals for you

I approach goal setting with patients by collaboratively identifying specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals that align with the individual's treatment plan. I worked closely with patients to establish goals that were personalized, realistic, and aligned with the patient's values, preferences, and unique circumstances. I ensure that goals are clear, attainable, and meaningful to the patient’s overall mental health and well-being, fostering motivation, accountability, and progress throughout the therapeutic process. Goals are regularly reassessed based on the patient's progress and changing needs.
