Hello, my name is Maureen O'Connor, license number I.1901861 I have been working with adults with mental health and substance abuse issues since 2017. I'm experienced in supporting clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, adjustment disorders (life transition), relationship stressors, and grief. My approach with clients is very empathetic and client-centered, so as to create a safe space for self-discovery and self-empowerment.
My approach
I consider myself trauma-informed and draw on many different kinds of therapy including EMDR, Gestalt, Strengths-based, Humanistic, and CBT.
My focus
I am comfortable working with adults from ages 18 to 75. I enjoy working with young adults who are working on making career or life transitions, as well as individuals experiencing relationship stressors, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma.
My communication style
My intention is to offer a trusting, supportive relationship where clients can feel safe to feel and process difficult emotions in a healthy way. Through this process, I believe individuals can find healing and empowerment. The therapeutic alliance can be a great source of support and strength.
