Hello, my name is Michael Ureke, LCSW-R. I am a licensed clinical social worker offering professional psychotherapy services in the State of New York. With over 25 years of experience, I am dedicated to empowering my clients to overcome personal obstacles and improve their lives.
My approach
Using clinically tested and evidence-based interventions, I work with clients to address a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, career challenges, anger management, behavioral and emotional difficulties, chronic mental illness, aging concerns, end-of-life matters, and relationship problems. My approach is tailored to each individual's unique needs.

My communication style is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through active listening and collaboration, we work together to develop effective strategies for personal growth and positive change.
My journey to mental healthcare
I hold a master's degree in social work and a bachelor's degree in psychology, both from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. My journey to mental healthcare began with a deep passion for helping others and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. I completed my clinical hours for licensure at New Horizon Counseling Center in Far Rockaway, NY from 1994 to 1996.
