Hello, I am Shakera Seward a licensed mental health counselor and I focus on helping individuals cope with stress, self-esteem issues, and low confidence. I also specialize in addiction. My approach is person-centered and building a rapport.
My approach
My background is rooted in Person-Centered, CBT, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy you will find I take an eclectic and systemic path to meet the unique needs of clients. My approach is collaborative and warm.
My focus
I have 10 years of experience working with women and men between the ages of 18 and up. I work best with trauma survivors and those struggling with addiction, interpersonal issues, self-esteem issues, anxiety, and depression.
My communication style
My communication style is authentic and relaxed. There is no judgment in this space, and it is my goal that clients feel comfortable and are able to fully be themselves.
My journey to mental healthcare
I started the journey of becoming a therapist due to experiencing my own trauma and dealing with loss and feelings of anxiety. I knew that my personal experiences led me to want to help others in need of support and guidance.
