Hi, My name is Sarah Manco. I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I am licensed to practice and prescribe medications in Arizona, New York, and South Carolina. I have been a PMHNP for 16 years.
My approach
My theoretical approaches are patient-centered, interpersonal, and supportive.
My focus
The type of clients I treat may have symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, and bipolar disorders. I am comfortable with all types of people and understanding of the LGBTQ community.
My communication style
The tone of our session will be relaxed, non-judgemental, and thoughtful. I believe each person has the right to be listened to without interruption. I encourage people to ask me questions.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was a registered nurse and saw that patients were more than a diagnosis and that there was a connection between mood imbalances and health problems. That spurred me on to get my master's degree and post-master degree in psychiatry.
My goals for you
Goal setting is done during the initial interview and modified as the patient's condition changes. I will ask you to tell me what your issues are and what you expect from the sessions, such as "feeling less anxious and depressed" or "improving relationship problems."
My first session with you
In our first session, I will ask you questions about present issues that are troubling you and how they are affecting your life, and then we will look at your health, social, psychiatric, and family histories. This ensures a thorough review to properly diagnose and treat your symptoms.
