My Name is Amanda J. Smith. I'm a psychotherapist under the License of Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of New York & New Jersey and have 5+ years in the mental health field. I have worked with clients from the adolescent to the geriatric population, with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, life changes/transitions, racial/cultural/environmental stressors, and LGBTQ IA+ support.
My approach
My counseling style is non-judgmental, warm, and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My technique combines solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, psychodynamic, and client-centered modalities.

My journey to mental healthcare
I know how scary it can be to feel emotionally overwhelmed by current life circumstances and seek support in addressing these barriers to ultimately increase your quality of life. This attracted me to become that support to others.
My goals for you
I strive to help you improve your quality of life, achieve your emotional wellness goals, and support you in redefining your life. In being part of your support, we can aim to find techniques to get you on the pathway to finding your desired balance.
My first session with you
Together, we will review what brought you in for therapy support, assess your stressors/strengths, review personal goals, and create a custom treatment plan that's right for you.
