Hi! My name is Brandy, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I believe that we all possess the tools to live a healthy and fulfilling life and have satisfying relationships. Sometimes we get off track and need to be redirected. There is nothing wrong with that\; it means you are HUMAN!!
My approach
I work from a client-centered and strengths-based approach. I utilize various systemic models and interventions based on a thorough assessment and collaborative treatment plan. My modalities include Attachment-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Family Systems Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
My focus
I work with individuals, couples, families, and minors aged 13-17. My specialties include treating addiction, anxiety, family conflict, infidelity, marital/pre-marital issues, trauma, and PTSD.
My communication style
I communicate with warmth, empathy, and a focus on your strengths. My style is collaborative and client-centered. I listen closely to understand your unique needs and adapt my approach to what works best for you. Expect me to be direct but non-judgmental, and to create a safe space for open and honest dialogue.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I completed my clinical hours for licensure at the Hawaii Counseling and Education Center, where I began in February 2017.
