My name is Stacey Jones, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), based in Las Vegas, NV, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I specialize in working with women on anxiety, stress, communication, and boundary setting, to help my clients make progress and start to feel better.
My approach
My approach to therapy can vary based on client needs, however I most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which will help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, and how they have impacted your life. I frequently provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, which offer practical approaches to managing emotions. I incorporate mindfulness techniques, which offer numerous benefits, such as reduction of anxiety, stress, and improvement in relationships, just to name a few.
My focus
I specialize in working with women and anxiety, stress-management, while providing a strengths-based approach. As a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People Of Color) clinician, my clinical experience and passion include, but are not limited to, creating a welcoming, safe, and open space for BIPOC clients.
My communication style
My communication style is personable, and easy-going. I would also say my clients see me as someone who is thorough, kind, and open-minded. I incorporate my sense of humor, when appropriate.
My journey to mental healthcare
I began my career in the U.S. Army, working in the computer field. I courageously decided to change my career path, and follow my passion, which was to work in the mental health field. My journey in the mental health field began with me working as a mental health therapist/substance abuse counselor, for women with co-occurring disorders. What drives me to do this work is my belief that people can and do change.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is by offering a nonjudgmental, and collaborative approach. I realize that you are the expert of your life, and if allowed, I would like to assist you in becoming the best version of yourself, using the inner strength that you possess.
My first session with you
What you can expect during our first session is for me to gain a better understanding of how you have been feeling lately, and for me to ask clarifying questions surrounding your concerns. I will also discuss what therapy will look like and answer any questions that you have for me. I typically assign activities between scheduled sessions, as a client resource, that we can discuss during the next session. The first session is about developing a good rapport, which is often a key factor in building trust, and with client success.
