Hello and welcome! I am Kellee Fitzgerald, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (license number 10997-C) based in Reno, Nevada, working with clients statewide through telehealth. I began my clinical work with older adults (ages 50 through end of life), and much of my recent work focuses on children ages 4-17 along with their families, in both residential (inpatient) and outpatient settings. My sessions focus on attachment and relationship building, effective communication, resilience, and the ability of individuals and families to persevere and overcome challenges and adversities.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is highly trauma-informed and person-centered, promoting self-awareness and self-acceptance. To promote the best interpersonal relationships possible, both internal and external, I use the foundation of Circle of Security Parenting, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Conscious Discipline among other evidence-based practices.
My focus
I have worked with every age over three years old and many populations. My clients have presented with a variety of symptoms including Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders, Feeding and Eating Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, Personality Disorders, and Disruptive, Impulse-Control, and Conduct Disorders.
My communication style
I provide a secure, strengths-based, judgment-free, and reflective environment, encouraging a supportive space where you identify and progress toward self-awareness and acceptance, and attaining your short-term and long-term goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have been drawn to the human condition and psychotherapy from a young age, feeling a strong desire to support the wellbeing of individuals and families. As my interest developed, I pursued both collaborating with and assisting others. I now focus my efforts on helping through psychotherapy. I am thankful my occupation focus helps individuals and families grow in their resilience and positivity. I appreciate and am humbled by the opportunity to assist you in your life’s journey.
My goals for you
In our working together to understand your needs, we will establish desired outcomes using the Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound (SMART) model. As your goal successes are met, I will work alongside you to incrementally adjust your goals and objectives to ultimate psychological autonomy.
My first session with you
At our first session, we will begin a secure, respectful, and optimistic relationship, and you will grow in confidence with my understanding of your needs and my ability to help you navigate your past, present, and future. We will begin developing your Treatment Plan. Sessions may include engaging in fun activities such as values identification, self-awareness, parts identification, emotion and feelings identification, self-regulation techniques, and mindfulness practices.
