My journey to mental healthcare
I began my counseling career when I was a 20 year old college graduate Enlisted man in the Navy. I was tasked with helping sailors get their GED”s and getting into appropriate training programs. I then worked with severely emotional disturbed children who had committed violent offenses who were committed to the Mexico State Childrens Psychiatric Unit. I then spent 20 years working as a prison psychologist at the different prisons in New Mexico. I spent most of my career assisting clients reestablish themselves with their families in the community with appropriate relationships and effective vocational and educational goals.
My goals for you
My goals for you My goals for you My approach to goal setting with clients is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. This often starts by building trust between us, and getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy. Over time, we’ll work together to set goals and track your progress.
My first session with you
My first Session What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend much of our time talking about how you’ve been feeling recently, and me asking questions about what is going on in your life with yourself and your relationships and your work, Everyone is different, and I like to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for you moving forward.
