My name is Anneka Dockery and I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I am dually licensed in DE and NJ. I work with individuals and couples. My approach to therapy is neutral, warm, inviting and person centered.
My approach
The most common theoretical approaches in my work are person centered, emotionally focused therapy, solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
My focus
I am open to working with anyone who is open to bettering self in many capacities that could bring internal and external peace in their lives. I work with clients 18 and older.
My communication style
Clients can expect me to be engaged, listen and ask clarifying questions to make sure I am hearing what they are saying effectively.
My journey to mental healthcare
During my husbands military career, I witnessed a lot of friends, family, relationships deteriorate or end. I wanted to be a change agent and create mental wellness within that culture and once my husbands military career was complete, I wanted to continue that in my community.

goal setting in therapy is a dynamic and collaborative process that empowers clients to make positive changes in their lives. By setting clear, achievable goals and working towards them in a structured way, clients can make meaningful progress towards improving their mental health and well-being.
My first session with you
the first therapy session is typically focused on building rapport, gathering information, and establishing a foundation for the therapeutic relationship. It's an opportunity for the client and therapist to get to know each other and begin working together towards the client's goals.
