Hi there, I'm Emmy Acevedo, LCSW teh owner of Abide Counseling.
My approach
I pull from different evidence based practices to meet your unique needs. Depending on the client need- I utilize, CBT, Client Centered, Relational and Strength Based approaches. If desired, I can also draw from a biblical perspective.
My focus
For the past decade, I have supported clients facing challenges such as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and family conflicts. My experience spans a diverse range of individuals, from pre-adolescents to adults.

My journey to mental healthcare
My passion for helping others emerged when I began volunteering as a mentor for disadvantaged children and youth. After my first year of college, I shifted my major from Biotechnology to Humanities & Social Sciences, uncertain of the future but guided by my newfound passion. Over the past decade, I’ve worked in various roles—ranging from non-profit organizations and in-home community crisis therapy to school social work and private practice.
