My name is Audrey Sherman, PhD, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in NH and FL working with clients via telehealth and video. I work with adults 18+ and specialize in anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, and life transitions. I use a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Affirmative Therapy, and Solution Focused to help my clients make progress and start feeling better quickly.
My approach
My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as it gets us to the heart of the problem right away and provides a strong collaborative base for working together. It allows you to take control of your wellbeing. In addition to solving your immediate issue, my goal for treatment includes making sure you have secured and mastered a skillset that helps protect you from future relapse.
My focus
My typical client is 18+ in age suffering from anxiety, depression, stress related issues, low self-esteem, relationship problems and work-related problems. I also have considerable experience working with LGBTQ+ clients to help work through identity, adjustment, acceptance and family issues.
My communication style
My communication style is direct, nonjudgmental and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me and know that their ideas, thoughts and issues are respected. These sessions are a safe, judgment-free space where you can open up, explore your emotions, and grow.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been interested in studying human behavior and problem solving. The two came together for me in college when I realized I could use both to help people. I feel very fortunate that I am able to use my skills in these areas in a career that I love.
My goals for you
We'll work closely together to understand your current problems issues, goals, values, and aspirations. Together, we'll craft a plan that includes actionable strategies and tools. I look at it like a roadmap of where you are and where you would like to be. We address not just the symptoms but the underlying causes of your challenges, promoting ongoing well-being and long-term success. Resilience beats relapse!
My first session with you
In our first session together, I will collect from you all the pertinent information that has brought you to seek therapy. I will also ask you about your past and any history that may be relevant to your current day issues. I will ask you about past treatments or therapies you may have tried that you found useful or not. Based on what you share with me, we will create a personalized plan for your treatment that includes immediate goals as well as longer reaching ones.
