Hi there, I'm Jodi Engelstein and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina. My license number is #10919. I work with clients statewide in North Carolina, via telehealth. I work with clients from ages 9-99, and help them with anxiety, depression, and self-esteem, just to name a few of my areas of specialty.
My approach
I use an eclectic person-centered, strength-based approach when working with clients. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Behavioral Activation methods and interventions to foster growth and improvement with the symptoms and behaviors that my clients come to therapy with. I utilize a holistic, client-centered, strength-based approach when working with those who seek treatment. I draw on many different therapeutic theories and strategies to facilitate the growth and change that clients may need at the time they are seeking assistance. My background aligns with evidence-based practices that incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Multi-Systemic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Behavioral Therapy and Management, and Person-Centered Therapy.
My focus
I have had the privilege of working with clients just like YOU, for over 30 years. Clients who sought out professional guidance and mentoring during difficult times. Those included have been children, adolescents, families, couples, and adults. I have fostered these populations in an array of different settings including homes, schools, offices, residential treatment facilities, hospitals, courts, and through telehealth/online platforms. I work with clients and help them with symptoms and or behaviors associated with depression and mood disorders, anxiety, stress, ADHD, grief and loss, trauma, management, sensory dysregulation/dysfunction, chronic mental health issues, etc.
My communication style
I will always encourage personal growth and self-exploration with the hope of facilitating and encouraging a better and brighter way of living for YOU. Counseling is grounded in a strong alliance between the therapist (Me) and the client (You), and is always based on unconditional positive regard, respect, and empathy.
My journey to mental healthcare
I bring my passion, knowledge, training, and expertise to my work and am committed to each and every client I see. This is foundational to the work we can do together. It can transform your self-perception and help you to take steps to enhance your growth, development, and ultimate contentment in life. I live by this and am eager to help YOU!
My goals for you
I have worked in the field of mental health counseling for many years. I have walked alongside individuals in many different capacities, to give guidance/mentoring and professional intervention options, to foster and facilitate changes and growth in career counseling, work/life balance, family/couples issues, child and school difficulties, just to name a few.
My first session with you
I take an oath to actively listen to your story, your thoughts, your feelings, your reactions: all with complete acceptance and validation. These are important key elements and essential building blocks of the work we will engage in while you are in therapy.
