My name is Tonya Brooke and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and life stressors using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy to help my clients reach their therapeutic goals and achieve balance in their lives.
My approach
My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. I want to help clients gain insight and build on their strengths.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach is a good fit for teens, young adults, and adults who are dealing with life stressors and challenges of life transitions. This may present itself in the form of anxiety, depression, and stress.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, approachable, and caring. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything. I listen to my clients without judgment and create a safe and understanding environment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist because I have a desire to help others who may be struggling to understand or cope with their mental health issues. My family and friends have always come to me when they want someone to listen to their concerns or help find solutions to their problems. I enjoy knowing that I can use my empathy and compassion to offer them support in challenging times.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is about working together as a team to set goals you would like to accomplish. This begins by building trust between the client and myself. After setting your goals, we will track your progress and reflects on your accomplishments as motivations to continue moving forward.
My first session with you
During our first session together, we will spend our time getting to know each other, talking about how you’ve been feeling recently, and me asking questions to better understand where we should begin.
