Hi. My name is Elizabeth Lauria. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina. My approach to therapy is guided by your needs. It's my desire to assist you with the things that are important to you. My areas of practice include anxiety, depression, family relationships, ADHD, mood disorders, and trauma.
My approach
I utilize many modalities including TFCBT, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing from a person-centered strengths-based approach.
My focus
My clients come with a myriad of concerns. Some present with specific issues such as ADHD, anxiety, or trauma while others identify struggling with life transitions and relationship complexities. Past traumatic events influence the daily life of many of my clients.
My communication style
I am logical and straightforward while providing validation, empathy, and support. It is important to me that my clients feel they have a safe place where they feel supported and understood. It's a place where they can be vulnerable and not worry about being judged.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist because I saw that I was able to help people and wanted to have a greater impact. I do this work because I find it rewarding to assist people in improving their situations and finding hope for a brighter future.
My goals for you
Goal setting should be a collaborative effort. They are your goals for things you desire to work on. It'll assist you with getting those goals on paper and breaking down reasonable attainable objectives to reach those goals in an acceptable time frame.
My first session with you
During our first session together I'll typically ask you to educate me about you and your experiences and what brings you to therapy. I'll share a little about myself and answer any questions or hesitations you may have about committing to therapy.
