I am Queensly Onuzulike, LCSW, MSW, CGIP. I am licensed in North Carolina with 7 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients in coping with grief and loss, anger management, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, & depression. I believe that you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
My approach
My approach to providing therapy is to meet each individual where they are and allow the client to steer me in the direction they want to go. The goal is to get you to a place where you can be comfortable enough to trust me because trust is the foundation for establishing a lasting therapeutic rapport that enhances progress in therapy. I utilize CBT, solution-focused, motivational interviews, and psycho-education techniques.
My focus
I work with clients from ages 5 to the elderly. I am experienced in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, divorce issues, parenting issues, couples therapy, and life transition issues.
My communication style
I am very mindful of my tone of voice, volume, and speed of speech. I make sure to align all of these based on the age and personality of each client and their presenting issues. I make eye contact when necessary and also pay attention when a client doesn't appreciate eye contact during the session. I apply the use of pause and silence when necessary and ensure my facial expression indicates interest in the client's presenting problem. Working with me makes my clients feel like they are speaking with a caring friend or family member, who also understands the importance of assertiveness, boundaries, and reinforcement, to ensure the client meets their set goals in therapy.
My goals for you
I allow the client to set their own goals for therapy. Clients setting their own goals determines the level of interest and commitment toward achieving their goals for therapy. I provide guidance based on the presenting problem.

Getting to know about the client by asking questions that allows me to understand the client better and helps me better serve the client's needs.
