I am Gina Rose a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy includes helping you gain coping skills, understand yourself and your concerns more deeply, and challenge negative beliefs to establish a level of recovery you're happy with. I hope to help you gain the ability to maintain your mental and emotional well-being lifelong.
My approach
I take a holistic approach and believe laughter can be medicinal. I take into consideration the many variables in your life, the stressors, and resources in your natural resources. I am trained in using a variety of interventions like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI)/Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy with a strong background in education on coping skills for chronic conditions, and situational problems. I am confident in my ability to help with overlapping issues like mental health issues and substance use together. I operate from a strengths-based, harm-reduction solution-focused approach. I am very knowledgeable in the use of Medication Assisted Treatments like Suboxone, Methadone, Vivitrol/Naltrexone, and Ketamine/Esketamine.
My focus
I am most comfortable treating mood disorders, anxiety, chronic illness, life transitions, relationship discord and breakdown, difficulties with acceptance, and many varieties of trauma. Clients I typically work best with will work on the things we talk about between appointments.
My communication style
I am very kind, focusing on compassion but will tell it to you straight. My clients often tell me they have never had someone teach them so much. I strive to help you feel like you "get it" by breaking things into manageable steps with clear directions.
My journey to mental healthcare
I understand what it is like to feel the odds are against you. To wonder if you can survive this hard time in life. I have overcome a variety of difficult things in my life and now I wake up every day with the mission to help others by empowering themselves.
My goals for you
We will set specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely (SMART) Goals that match your abilities. Generally, we want to keep what is working, add things that will work and let go of things that don't work, and measure that progress throughout treatment.
My first session with you
To talk about your experience with the issue or symptoms you are looking for help with. We will assess your situation that's causing a condition. I will lay out your options to see what you're interested in and create a plan with ideas that you're interested in.
