Kelly Sensoli, LCSW. I have 13 years of experience as a therapist to clients of all ages, with an emphasis on adolescents, young adults and adults with mood disorders, ADHD, impulse control disorders and relationship issues. I'm passionate about helping you through exploring your strengths, aiding you in gaining insight into your problem areas, and helping you to learn the skills needed for emotional and behavioral wellness.
My approach
We all have hurts that need healing. I provide a warm, accepting therapeutic space for you to express and explore your feelings and thoughts, as well as a reflective collaborative approach that balances self-exploration and skill building to give you the tools to create a life of wellness, meaning and fulfillment.
My focus
I typically work with clients that are wanting to gain insight and understanding into their difficulties and are open to exploring the patterns and behaviors that are not serving them and replacing them with healthier and more useful skills such as emotional regulation, mindfulness, meditation to name a few.
My communication style
I provide a genuine and friendly, authentic space for you to talk about whatever is on your mind, the issues you are experiencing and anything else that may come up for you. I am compassionate, non-judgmental and caring and you will definitely feel like someone is in your corner. That being said, in the areas where I feel like it's in your best interest, I will challenge you in a supportive and positive manner, for the sake of your own growth and progress.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was initially attracted to therapy out of a strong desire to help people and empathize with the strengths and struggles of both everyday people and the less fortunate. I am charitable and compassionate by nature and have always had a knack for helping people to solve problems and resolve issues in their lives, I chose the therapy profession to help put this skill set to good use.
My goals for you
I work together with you to explore the issues that brought you into therapy and assist you in developing goals based on your unique needs. I provide a strength based, client centered approach where we create realistic, measurable goals together that aim to reduce symptoms and improve long lasting wellness.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will explore what brings you into therapy as well as what you're looking to accomplish and get out of therapy. We will go over the current issues that you are experiencing and explore your history and background to give an understanding of what therapy approach (or combination of approaches) may work best for you. We will discuss and create your goals based upon what you'd like to get done in therapy and I will share with you my feedback regarding the best practices and interventions to meet your unique needs.
