Hell0! My name is Heavin Schmidt and I am an LPC. I have been licensed for 10+ years and have experience working with those who have experienced trauma, life changes, and crisis situations. I am looking forward to helping you on your journey.
My approach
I am trained in TF-CBT and EMDR. I also find value in solution-focused work and crisis management.
My focus
I am most interested in helping young adults navigate through life changes, crises, and past trauma and its impact on their day-to-day interactions.
My communication style
I have a calming personality and tone. I work to maintain that calm as we work to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always had an interest in the helping professions. I started my career in social work as I continued to work towards a degree and licensure in counseling. I love the work because I value the impact a single interaction can have on someone's life and perspective.
