Hi! I’m Melody McCaig and an independently licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Missouri. My primary approach is strengths-based and supportive while drawing on many evidence based approaches including CBT and play therapy. I’ve successfully worked with individuals of all ages and from all walks of life in navigating through some of life’s most difficult times.
My approach
I offer a person-centered and strengths-based approach to help you. Whether you’re having a new or longtime problem, I believe that seeing things from your perspective will help me be better able to identify which options will most likely work for you. I pull from several approaches including CBT and play therapy techniques to help identify interventions that will help you feel better.
My focus
I’ve worked with people of all ages but am currently only seeing adult individuals. I’ve worked with individuals of all ages, races, religions, genders, and social statuses who are dealing with a variety of challenges including relationship issues, anxiety, depression, stress, divorce, job loss, and grief.
My communication style
I’m collaborative and a great listener. I find a that truly listening to hear rather than respond is a key component to a healthy therapeutic relationship.
My journey to mental healthcare
To me, being a therapist is an opportunity to support others who are also struggling in managing life’s challenges.
My goals for you
I believe you know what is important to you. I will help you organize your thoughts and feelings in a meaningful way to help set a goal that you want to achieve.
My first session with you
I want to know what’s important to you. During our first session, we will gather information about what’s you want from therapy and how best to achieve that.
