My name is Jamie Yates and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. I'm trained in DBT, CBT, and ACT. I work with my clients to set goals and identify areas of change. This may include me offering insight into areas of concern or guiding you toward implementing the changes you would like to see.
My approach
I use an eclectic approach that focuses on how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors affect our lives. This approach focuses on acceptance of what we cannot change and working toward changes that you would like to implement.
My focus
I generally work with teenagers and adults with depression, anxiety, and/or Borderline Personality Disorder.
My communication style
I utilize a laid-back approach with gentle encouragement for change in areas that my clients have identified as concerns.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was drawn to being a therapist due to the natural skills I have of listening and nonjudgment of others. I am driven to help others improve their lives and find helping others to be truly rewarding.
My goals for you
I work with my clients to set goals and identify areas of change.
My first session with you
During the first session, a client should expect to be able to share what they are comfortable with sharing while answering some questions to help me build an understanding of their concerns and needs in therapy.
