Hey there! My name is Cait Earle and I am a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist. I have been in practice for roughly 10 years now. I began working at Mayo Clinic with pediatric patients battling depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. I later branched out into a practice with clients of all ages ranging from age 5 to 85 or so. I have experience working with couples and families.
My approach
I enjoy incorporating a variety of therapeutic strategies, commonly CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based practices. My goal is to help you learn to become your own therapist; by that I mean I strive to empower you to learn and trust your instincts, perhaps for the first time. Together, we develop appropriate goals and aspirations and I absolutely love seeing my clients gain confidence over time as they see the magic happen. I enjoy this work whole-heartedly, and my passion is very obvious upon working with me!
My focus
I enjoy working with teenagers, young adults, and beyond! I've found a passion working with those that find themselves at an impasse perhaps later in life, feeling they've lost their way and could benefit from a supportive person to help them find their way back to themselves. I have experience working with a wide range of diagnoses, including general stress, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and eating disorders.
My communication style
I have a kind, gentle, and empowering approach with clients. You are in the driver's seat (I will remind you of this often), however, I'm happy to sit next to you and suggest we take a U-turn if need be! I like to have fun and joke when the time is right. It's important to me that my clients enjoy my company and feel uplifted when our sessions come to a close.
My journey to mental healthcare
Understanding people and what makes them "tick" has always been a passion of mine. I was often the friend people turned to when they had a problem to sort through. I love helping people develop themselves, and better yet, understand that they had the answers all along but perhaps lacked the self-trust and confidence they needed. I love seeing people make progress and improve themselves, whatever that means for that person. I just love to help, and I very much look forward to helping you!
My goals for you
As previously stated, I see you as in the "driver's seat", taking the lead on where you want to go and how you want to improve on. However, I'm more than happy to ask guiding questions to help you identify areas that you'd like to work on together. I will often visit and revisit identified values, particular traits that are up the utmost importance to you which can provide us with excellent direction as we define action steps we'd like to take together.
My first session with you
Our first session is our "Get to Know You" session. I'll be asking many questions all about your hopes for therapy, as well as your history. You are welcome to share as much as you are comfortable. I'll be asking questions about your mental health history and symptoms as well. By the end, I hope we will have established a good idea of the direction and focus we want to have together.
