Lynn Whalen, MSW, LICSW My primary focus in my practice is guiding clients through the healing process and resolving issues related to traumas and adverse life events to address the mental health issues they are facing. My goal is to help clients understand the “Why” in what they are experiencing in their life. This is accomplished through a combination of education, discussion, reflection, and intervention.
My approach
I am an EMDR Trained provider and received my training through EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs (EMDR HAP). I work with clients 18 years and older. My primary focus in my practice is guiding clients through the healing process and resolving issues related to traumas and adverse life events to address the mental health issues they are facing. This includes working with clients who suffer from PTSD and other trauma- and stressor-related disorders as well as those experiencing symptoms related to mood, anxiety, and personality disorders.

My first session with you
The first session is also about setting the stage for therapy, beginning to build a therapeutic relationship, and learning about each other. I will work to gather information in areas such as, but not limited to, why is the client seeking therapy services; physical health concerns (current and history); medications; family and social histories; mental health symptoms (current and history); as well as information surrounding current living environment.
