Accepting new clients of all ages! Embracing mental health care is not just about managing symptoms—it’s a pathway to understanding oneself, cultivating resilience, and developing coping strategies for life's challenges. I am Heather McClendon, APRN, PMHNP-BC - I work with all patients age 6 and up , providing psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, brief psychotherapy, and psychotropic medication management. Specialties include, but are not limited to; depression disorders, anxiety disorders, sleep disorders, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia and more.

My approach

My approach is collaborative, valuing your unique perspective and lived experiences. I view our therapeutic relationship as a partnership, working together to explore the depths of your concerns, set achievable goals, and ultimately empower you to lead a more fulfilling life.

My focus

I enjoy working with clients off all ages and backgrounds. Generally, I work with clients age 6 and up. I provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, brief psychotherapy, and psychotropic medication management. Specialties include, but are not limited to; depression disorders, anxiety disorders, sleep disorders, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, women's/maternal health and more.

I used evidence-based practice to support medication options available to you. My role is to offer you treatment options and help guide you in in finding treatment that fits your needs. My communication style is open, honest and straight forward.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have 20 + years in healthcare, working in a wide variety of settings including adolescents and geriatric psychiatry, addiction disorders and more. Working in the mental health field provides opportunities to give others life-changing support. I am driven to provide you the tools for change. I offer compassion, inspire hope, and teach the skills needed to overcome challenges.

My goals for you

I place high value on a client’s full participation in the development of each treatment plan to encourage compliance and I believe everyone deserves to have access to high-quality mental health care. I understand the courage it takes to seek help and the vulnerability that comes with sharing one’s innermost thoughts and emotions. Therefore, I strive to create an environment that is compassionate, non-judgmental, and centered on your needs. My first session with you

The first visit is always intimidating as a client, I understand! I will work diligently to put you at ease and establish rapport from the start. As your mental health medication management provider- I will work with you to understand your goals of treatment by taking a little background information and also establishing health goals.
