My name is Shannon Trainor and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW. I have over 20 years working with substance use/addiction, trauma, anxiety/depression, relationship issues and eating disorders.
My approach
I utilize CBT, solution focused therapy and DBT skills in my practice and have extensively with adults, adolescents, families and women.
My focus
I have worked with adults, adolescents and families throughout my career. I see clients who struggle with substance use and/or addiction, current or past traumas, anxiety and depression, eating disorders as well as family systems work with substance use disorders.
My communication style
I meet every client where they are at when we first begin and help them to identify their goals for treatment and help them to achieve those goals throughout our sessions. I offer a safe space for clients which also means holding clients accountable and challenging them as needed to help them achieve their goals.
My goals for you
I discuss with the client what they want to get out of therapy and begin to develop realistic, attainable goals with the clients with clear goals and interventions and timeframes. We will then continue to address these goals and work towards these goals in each session and update on progress as needed.
My first session with you
The first session is to begin to establish a relationship with each other and discuss what brought them to seek therapy in the first place.
