Hello and welcome! My name is Holly Carletti, LCPC. I believe that every individual needs a space in which to be ‘heard.’ With all of the noise, distractions and overstimulation in the world around us, it’s easy to feel unnoticed and unimportant. Being that we are all unique and important, we deserve to have the opportunity to grow and thrive in our own lives, in our own way. Three words that describe my style are: attentive, respectful, and compassionate. I feel passionate about building a strong therapeutic alliance and helping to empower the client toward autonomy. My training and practice in massage therapy has assisted me with understanding the physiology of the human body, how emotions affect the body, and how to help clients work with their own physiology in order to effectively self regulate. I view each client as a whole person and focus on that client's strengths. Depending on the individual needs of a client, I utilize a variety of methods of therapy. I specialize in anxiety, depression, women's issues, pre and post partum/ relationship issues, grief/bereavement, work-related stress, and adjustment disorders.
My approach
I work in both top-down and bottom-up styles, but I do prefer bottom-up. While I identify as an eclectic therapist, I most often use DBT, CBT, mindfulness, somatic, narrative, solution focused, motivational interviewing, person-centered, and interpersonal therapy styles.
My focus
I work with adults only, 18+, struggling with mood disorders, self esteem, self identity, work stressors, adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, chronic illness/pain, women's issues, pre and post partum and relationship issues.
My communication style
I am respectful, compassionate, supportive, solution focused, and non-judmental. Many clients have said that working with me is like meeting with a friend.
My journey to mental healthcare
This field has chosen me. I feel that I have strong empathy for others and I deeply enjoy providing kindness, compassion and support in a therapeutic setting.
My goals for you
I ask the client to describe in their own words the issue that they are experiencing and the goals they have for those issues. I treat each client as the expert of themselves and myself as an encouraging support who offers psychoeducation, coping tools, and compassion.
My first session with you
The first session typically begins with informed consent, including limitations of Telehealth and therapy in general as well as benefits, being transparent about my schedule and explaining which days I am on the platform as well as contact information for me if sessions need to be changed. I explain limits of confidentiality and limits of therapy. I ask the client about their past experiences in therapy to help guide me towards what is most useful for the client and steer me away from that which has not been helpful in the past. I will conduct an intake session where I ask client a series of questions in order to create a more 3 dimensional picture of the client and help clarify their goals for treatment. I set aside time for client to ask any questions and for us to schedule a follow up session.
