Hi there, I'm Ali!

My name is Ali Koochek, and I am a licensed clinical counselor with a doctorate in psychology. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome life's challenges through an integrative approach that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness and holistic practices. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma, providing a supportive and empathetic environment for healing and personal growth. Together, we can work towards achieving your therapeutic goals.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, holistic practices, and trauma-informed care. CBT helps clients reframe negative thought patterns, while mindfulness enhances present-moment awareness and emotional regulation. Holistic practices address the mind-body connection, incorporating lifestyle changes and complementary therapies. Trauma-informed care ensures a safe environment for clients to process and heal from traumatic experiences. This multifaceted approach allows me to create personalized treatment plans that foster healing, growth, and overall well-being.

My focus

I work with clients as young as 10 years old up to older adults, addressing a broad spectrum of mental health conditions. I am most comfortable treating anxiety, depression, trauma, severe mental illnesses, and various other conditions. My focus is on creating a supportive and empathetic environment where individuals at different life stages can navigate their challenges and achieve emotional well-being through personalized and integrative therapeutic approaches.

My communication style

My communication style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative, fostering a safe and non-judgmental environment for clients. I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. Working with me feels supportive and encouraging, as I focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance and tailoring my approach to meet each client's unique needs. This nurturing atmosphere helps clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and emotions, facilitating their journey toward healing and personal growth.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist was deeply influenced by my personal struggles and a sense of unfulfillment in my previous career. I initially felt a lack of meaningful human connection, which left me yearning for a more impactful and fulfilling path. My fascination with the human mind and my own experiences with overcoming challenges led me to pursue advanced education in psychology. This career allows me to make a tangible difference in people's lives, offering them the support and understanding that I once needed. The profound fulfillment I gain from witnessing clients' growth and resilience drives my dedication to this work. By providing compassionate and effective care, I strive to support individuals on their journey to healing and personal growth.

My goals for you

I approach goal setting with clients through a collaborative process, working together to identify meaningful and relevant goals. We break these down into manageable steps and regularly review and adjust them based on progress and new insights. This ensures that goals remain aligned with the client's evolving needs and circumstances, empowering them to take ownership of their therapeutic journey.

My first session with you

During a first session with me, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where they feel comfortable sharing their concerns. We will discuss their reasons for seeking therapy, their personal history, and any specific goals they have in mind. This initial session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions and for us to establish a foundation of trust and understanding. Together, we will outline a collaborative plan for their therapeutic journey, ensuring that they feel heard and respected.
