I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with extensive experience providing individual and family psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked in both educational and clinical settings, including GY Counseling and Prince George’s County Public Schools, where I supported students with autism and those in crisis. My background includes trauma therapy, crisis intervention, and program development, with a strong focus on helping diverse populations navigate mental health challenges.
My approach
I value the uniqueness of each individual and approach therapy with a nonjudgmental, Person-Centered orientation. My practice is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while drawing from a variety of techniques. I believe that our differences are what make us strong, and I work with individuals to help them recognize and embrace their distinct qualities.
My focus
I work with clients across a broad age range, from 5 to 55 years old, and am experienced in addressing a wide variety of conditions. While I am committed to providing the highest level of care, I will not hesitate to make a referral to another specialist if I believe their expertise would better meet your specific needs.
My communication style
I foster a calm, non-judgmental atmosphere that empowers individuals to regain and maintain control over their circumstances. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics, promoting openness and facilitating the healing process.
My journey to mental healthcare
My passion for mental health therapy stems from a deep commitment to helping individuals regain a sense of empowerment and control that may have been diminished. I am motivated by the opportunity to facilitate growth and healing, and to support individuals in reclaiming their personal strength and autonomy.
My goals for you
Goal setting is tailored to the unique circumstances of each individual, taking into account a variety of factors that influence the formulation of specific objectives. These factors are assessed on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that the goals established are both relevant and achievable within the context of the individual's needs and situation.
My first session with you
The initial session serves as an opportunity to establish rapport and gather a comprehensive understanding of the people I work with. During this session, we will review the intake questionnaire in detail, address any follow-up questions, and begin identifying the specific goals the individual wishes to pursue in therapy.
