Hello, I am Dr. Madeline Morey. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I have an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning I tailor my approach to each client. Focus areas in my practice include depression, anxiety, trauma, marriage and family counseling, substance use, weight loss, grief, and managing change.
My approach
My therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and Trauma-Informed Therapy.
My focus
I most commonly see clients who are seeking services for anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, grief, substance use, eating disorders, weight loss, women's issues, marriage and family matters, and parenting.
My communication style
My approach is that of a coach. This means that I assist clients in focusing on their most important goals, help them prioritize areas of need, and help clients move forward when they are anxious. I create a relaxed supportive environment where clients are free to find a way forward in meeting the outcomes they have identified in their treatment plan.
My journey to mental healthcare
From an early age, I expressed an interest in helping people with emotional health, quality of life, and improving life outcomes. I wanted to understand how the brain functions, and how therapy, measurement instruments, and medical interventions including medication play a role in emotional health. I recently completed my PsyD (Doctorate of Psychology) which allowed me to explore all of these areas in a more in-depth way. I am a lifelong learner and will continue my journey via continuing education and maintaining state-of-the-art practices to serve my clients with the highest quality interventions.
My goals for you
Measurement-based care is used as a guide to assist clients in improving emotional health outcomes. The treatment plan is developed in the first several sessions and guides therapeutic interventions during treatment. Periodic treatment plan reviews help the client to witness and celebrate progress.
My first session with you
The first session is a "get to know one another" session. An orientation to the counseling process and an initial assessment will be conducted which sets the stage for ongoing treatment.
