My name is Vonetta Hubbard and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Massachusetts, working with clients statewide via Telehealth. I work with adults and adolescents and specialize in depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients with empowerment to feeling better.
My approach
My approach varies based on the clients stage of motivation and needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients to identify and change negative thought patterns and improve their mood and respond to challenges more effectively. We will work together to establish goals for therapy and build a path for the desired outcome of improved well-being.
My focus
I have found that my style of therapy is good for teens, young adults, and older adults facing life challenges and societal pressures. I work to help my clients navigate these challenges and build skills that they can utilize to feel better and improve their overall outlook on life.
My communication style
My communication style is personable, calm, and friendly as I establish a rapport with my client. I want my clients to feel comfortable with expressing themselves openly and freely in a judgement free zone.
My journey to mental healthcare
My innate desire to help others and my genuine concern for the well-being of other people attracted me to the career as a therapist. I find therapy to be meaningful and I have a passion for inspiring others to be all that they are capable of being. I am driven to do this work because I have empathy and compassion to offer support during challenging times. The most rewarding part of therapy is giving people hope when they feel hopeless.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is to first establish trust. Then we will work together to determine what you ultimately want to accomplish from therapy. Once the desired outcome is defined, then I will assist with setting short-term and long term goals to achieve the desired outcome.
My first session with you
During the first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other and building a connection. We will also spend time discussing how you have been feeling and what brought you to therapy. Each person is different and this time will be spent listening to your concerns, which will help me to understand you as a person and which approach works best for you.
