Hi, My name is Jessica Pelletier and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) located north of Boston, MA, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults of all ages and focus my practice on individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment disorder, and relational difficulties.
My approach
My approach to therapy is guided by the unique needs of each client. Given the focus areas of my practice, I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Problem-Solving Therapy, and Systemic Therapy. Therapy is not "one size fits all" therefore it is important to offer different theoretical approaches that best fit the unique needs of the client.
My focus
Throughout my career, I have worked with adolescents and adults of various ages in residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings. I enjoy the uniqueness of individuals at different life stages and believe that everyone has the capacity to make meaningful changes in ways that promote healing and recovery.
My communication style
When working with clients, I want them to feel they are in an environment that is safe and nonjudgmental. My communication style is calm, compassionate, and respectful, listening with curiosity and believing that individuals strive to do their best given the circumstances they are faced with at the time.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been drawn to the field of Social Work for several reasons. Over my 20+ years career, the most rewarding and enjoyable aspects of my work have stemmed from individualized work with clients. I believe the therapeutic relationship offers clients a safe and supportive environment to do the sometimes difficult work needed to bring about desired change.
My goals for you
When it comes to goal setting, I see my role as offering encouragement and support to clients in choosing personalized goals, no matter how big or small, which they are invested in and confident they can achieve. I believe that small successes over time are critical in building the self-confidence that will ultimately lead to the client experiencing their greatest success.
My first session with you
In the first session, I will invite clients to share details about themselves and what led them to therapy. I empathize with clients about how difficult it can be to share very personal information with a stranger. Clients can expect me to ask questions that will further my understanding of them, their history, and the experiences that have made them who they are.
