My names is Rebecca Lee, and I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Massachusetts. I have 20 years experience working in the behavioral health field. Some of areas of focus include: anxiety, depression, marital conflict, self esteem, addiction and life changes.
My approach
First and foremost, I practice from a person centered and trauma focused lens. Building rapport is of the utmost importance to me. I want you to feel safe in the therapeutic relationship. Comment approaches include: CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
My focus
I work with adults (18 +), couples and families. I routinely work with the following diagnoses: anxiety, panic disorder, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. I also have experience working with individuals struggling with self esteem, grief, anger management, and difficulty adjusting to life changes.
My communication style
Your emotional safety is my first concern. I am compassionate and empathetic. I care deeply about people. I want you to feel heard, understood and supported.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always cared about people. I was a peer counselor in junior high and high school and helped support peers when they requested to talk to a classmate. My first psychology class was in high school and I was immediately ediately intrigued. Simply put, I care about people's feelings and experiences.
My goals for you
I work collaboratively with clients on developing treatment plan goals and objectives. We will work together to identify what it is that you want to achieve in your time in therapy.
My first session with you
During the first session I want to learn about you. I want to learn about current symptoms and their impact on your current functioning. I will begin gathering information and will try to answer any questions you have.
