My name is Chelsey Brown (she/her), and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) working virtually with clients in the state of Massachusetts. I work with adults of all ages, specializing in mood and anxiety disorders.
My approach
I strive to provide a space of empathy and non-judgment for all clients to be able to safely explore difficult topics. Clinical interventions are tailored to the specific person and goals, and I usually will pull from different modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT). I offer options for clients to choose from and explore in order to find what works best for them.
My focus
I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults on a variety of topics, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress management, among others. I work to help my clients gain a deeper understanding of their mental health, factors that contribute, and identify positive changes they can make in their lives to start feeling better.
My communication style
Sessions with me usually have a casual tone, and it is not uncommon for me to incorporate humor, as therapy can often feel intimidating or daunting and I want to make it a more comfortable experience. I offer clear feedback during sessions, and encourage clients to also offer feedback to me, so that I can adapt my style to best suit their needs.
