My name is Suzanne (Sue) Miller and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) based in Tallahassee, Florida. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety/stress, depression/grief, and relationships.
My approach
With me, you can feel safe to share your thoughts and feelings without worry of being judged or given unwanted advice. I am very caring, treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational interviewing and Mindfulness to help you reach your goals.
My focus
I have 6 years experience helping my clients manage their anxiety, depression, loss, relationships. I am here for men, women, LGBTQIA+, chronic/terminally ill and caregivers.
My communication style
Sessions with me are very casual and relaxed. I am a very caring person, treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I have excellent listening skills so you can vent, without worry of being judged or given unwanted advice. Sessions will focus more on what you bring to the appointment and processing your present situation.
My journey to mental healthcare
I want to help people manage their sadness, anxiety, stress, grief, so they can live their best lives. Therapy allows me to help guide them through the use of various modalities/techniques, educating, providing coping skills, and much more. I also love the collaborative aspect, working together to set and reach goals. I encourage my clients to share what they've learned with friends/family so they can benefit as well.
My goals for you
We will work collaboratively to identify your long term and short term goals and any steps you feel comfortable taking. Goals are not written in concrete. They can be changed as needed as we progress along our journey.
My first session with you
During our first session, I will ask questions to guide our conversation in order to learn more about your present situation and past experiences. You are encouraged to share any questions or concerns you have about therapy. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
