My name is Amelia. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Louisiana. My approach to therapy is very person-centered, as I focus on what goals the person would want to achieve and assist in making the plan to achieve them. I am skilled in cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, DBT therapy, solution-focused therapy, and positive psychology.
My approach
Due to the nature of mental health disorders I work with, I would say my approach to therapy is basically helping you get through life as life continues to occur. I assist those who suffer within relationships, with anxiety, depression, stress, life!
My focus
I work with everyone over the age of 13 years old. My focus is the adolescent population and young adults.
My communication style
My communication style is very relaxed, not pressured for the client to do all the talking, but making sure it is a collaborative effort to get to the main goal.
