Hi there, I'm Kimberly!

I am Kimberly Billings, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with 23+ years of clinical experience. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming life's challenges. I am well experienced in helping people move beyond struggles with ADD/ADHD, stress and anxiety, depression, relationship & parenting issues, and in coping with life's unexpected stressors. Taking the first step and reaching out for support takes courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

My approach

I utilize several approaches to therapy: Recognizing the influence our beliefs, thoughts, and feelings have as we respond to struggles; Working together as clinician and client to discover ideas about change; Finding and putting into action solutions that minimize time spent struggling with distress.

My focus

My practice now focuses primarily on adults struggling with issues related to ADD/ADHD, Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Parenting, Relationships, Self-Esteem, and Stress.

My communication style

Perhaps it is most helpful to hear directly what clients say about our collaboration: Addressed issues in a comfortable and manageable way; Helped me not stay stuck in the past and instilled hope for my future; Compassionate; Felt at easy from first session; Kept me focused on growth; Life changing experience; Clarified issues; Strategic development for healing; Effective use of therapy time; Felt heard and listened to; Thoughtful support in helping me challenge my beliefs; Asked intuitive questions; Spoke truthfully, yet with kindness; A lifeline during the worst of my pain; Easy to connect with; Felt validated; Patient and caring; Help decreased my stress from the beginning; Always felt supported and never judged.

My journey to mental healthcare

My personal journey to becoming a clinician began as a young parent highly interested in providing our children with a healthy and interactive childhood. I found the works of Piaget, Adler, Erikson, Montessori, Azrin fascinating in exploring children's growth and development - and most importantly, the impact of experiences, emotions and behavioral motivation extending across the life span.

My goals for you

Understand the healing the client longs for, collaborate on SMART goals, develop and institute strategies to move client toward their goal, monitor and evaluate growth, celebrate client success!

My first session with you

In our first session together we will become acquainted, discuss information related to confidentiality & risk management, handle housekeeping issues (frequency & length of sessions), and explore the impact of the current struggles on your daily life. Talking about our feelings is often difficult and it is normal to feel emotional. And you will receive a warm, empathetic response.
