Hi there! I'm Marsheila Tincher. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a heartfelt passion for supporting my clients through the challenges of life in order to achieve healing, restoration, and growth in their lives.
My approach
My approach is person centered. I will offer empathy and unconditional positive regard when meeting with you. I care about your experience(s) and helping you to navigate through your journey of challenges and experiences. It is important to me that we work collaboratively in developing a plan of care that meets your priorities and needs.
My focus
In my career many of my clients have faced challenges with life changes whether it be an adolescent facing peer relationship challenges, a military service person challenged with various military unique issues, or individuals faced with career or family changes. I have found that left unaddressed these challenges can promote or exacerbate feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, and/or loss.
My communication style
I want to make sure I hear and understand my clients without judgement. Most of my clients express a sense of peace and calmness when working with me. It is common for my clients to tell me I "make them think" and help them feel empowered to work toward making changes to improve their situation.
My journey to mental healthcare
I love people and feel great satisfaction in accepting people for who they are and where they are in life. By nature I am a good listener and truly interested in other people. I tend to help people redefine success as a journey rather than a destination.
My goals for you
I work with my clients openly to identify changes they would like to see in their lives. This is initially done by listening and asking thoughtful and thought provoking questions. If a client has several concerns they want to address, I help them prioritize and also assist them in gaining an understanding of how improvement in one area carries over to improvement in other areas of their lives.
My first session with you
During my first session with a client I want to get to know them as a unique individual rather than just a client or a diagnosis. I want to learn how they have handled situations in the past in order to utilize their strengths. I also want to assess their insight into their situation.
