My name is Nate Lingo and I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for the past 10 years. I am working with clients throughout the State of Indiana. I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV), where I lived in Mongolia for 2 years. I work with young to middle-aged adults and specialize in stress, anxiety, depression along with BPD, eating disorders, and relationship distress. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Adventure Therapy (AT), and The Gottman Method.
My approach
My approach in working with someone new is to get to know them and identify their strengths, areas for growth, and plan for helpful supports moving forward. Though I most frequently use DBT at this time, I have used a variety of supports and treatment modalities to support the people I work with. I take time to better understand your goals and identify the most helpful supports.
My focus
I have worked with a variety of people focusing on many goals. I am open and comfortable with talking about almost anything, exploring next steps, and focusing on specific goals.
My communication style
I listen to your experiences, thoughts, and feelings regarding all aspects of therapy, life, and personal experiences. I offer encouragement, support, and time to safely review your life and plan appropriate next steps. We will explore what's most important to you and work towards what makes the most sense, together.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been interested in bettering my life and have looked towards thoughts that made sense to me. I love positive psychology, quotes, and learning new ways to improve personal skills. I think there are so many great ways to live and see the world. I enjoy getting to know people and overcoming challenges.
My goals for you
When setting up goals, we will explore many different options and identify the best next steps to reach your goals.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will go over many questions to get an overall understanding of your experiences and needs. We will also discuss plans for treatment, diagnosis, and supports/resources.
