My name is Isabel West and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Valparaiso, Indiana and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adolescents, teens, and adults and specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, and bipolar disorder using a Client Centered Approach and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients make progress and cope with life's daily stressors.
My approach
My approach to therapy is individualized based on where the client is and what they need. I use a Client Centered Approach and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These modalities allow me to align with my clients and and work toward accomplishing goals together.
My focus
I typically work with adolescents, teens, and adults who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, mood changes, stress, and adjustment difficulties. I work to help my clients build coping skills to feel better during these transitions. We work together to help manage symptoms and create a happier and healthier life.
My communication style
My communication style is relaxed, personable, and approachable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, this is a judgement free zone.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help people through their most difficult times. I wanted to be that nonjudgmental safe space to help others find peace of mind. I understand the importance of this through my own personal experiences and difficult journeys. Yes, even therapists have therapists. We are all human.
