My name is Kimberly Beck and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I've been providing therapy for nearly 20 years.
My approach
I believe in collaborative work with clients where we are partners in your healing process. I consider you the expert because no one knows you like you do. Some of my preferred interventions include CBT, Schema Therapy. Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR.
My focus
Though I work with many diagnosis', I most often treat adult female survivors of trauma. I enjoy addressing women's issues with a gender specific and holistic approach.
My communication style
I believe in a client centered approach, and work toward making you as comfortable as possible by being genuine, and personable while providing a professional service. A non judgemental environment is imperative for therapeutic work. And, I'm not against a sense of humor.
My journey to mental healthcare
I've always been intrigued by people and why they do what they do. I enjoy my work and cannot imagine doing any other job. My clients amaze me with their strength and drive. It's a job where I frequently learn as much from my clients as I hope they learn from me.
My goals for you
I want to know what the client finds important. What are their expectations for treatment. What are the primary concerns now? How do those concerns manifest...what does it look like? And what will it look like when the client has met their goal?
My first session with you
I really like to spend the first meeting getting to know one another a bit. I like to give the client time to expand on what they presented during their intake, to ask whatever questions they might have, and share their preferences.
