My name is Dr. Chelsea Bennett and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Indiana and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I primarily work with adults and couples and specialize in anxiety, mild forms of depression and Borderline Personality Disorder, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.
My approach
My sessions are client centered, meaning we start where you are and draw from Psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to get you back to where you can start to manage all that life calls you to manage.
My focus
I have experience of helping people with a broad range of concerns. My specialty is working with those who have sustained trauma at some point in their life. I also work extensively with couples, families, and teens struggling socially, academically and/or personally.
My communication style
Think of sitting at a coffee shop, talking to a trusted and supportive friend. This is the environment I work hard to create. I want you to feel safe, comfortable and supported. It's always a judgement free space, where you can expect to work hard on healing and receiving the encouragement, coping skill knowledge and challenges that help you meet your goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
Every day we meet someone who could benefit from some form of counseling. Within my lifetime, I've come across so many people who genuinely need their own supportive village. I believe everyone is worthy of experiencing safe spaces for for them to learn, grow, be encouraged and develop healthier coping strategies that are long standing. I maybe biased, but I believe being a therapist ROCKS because we get to be part of those supportive villages!
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. This often starts by building trust, and getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy. Over time, we will work together to set goals and track your progress.
My first session with you
Our first session is time to specifically explore you. We talk about has brought you to counseling. We talk about what you hope to gain from counseling and all the other details that help make you.
