Hi! My name is Su Roth. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have many years of experience in working with people from many different cultural backgrounds and I am very aware of the importance of how our cultures influence our mental health. I love working with individuals and families and have had many success in doing so. I love helping people to have the confidence to be authentically themselves.
My approach
I am a big believer that we all have what it takes to overcome our struggles and sometimes we just need a little help. I am a trauma-informed care provider and utilize EMDR and IFS informed approach as well as other evidenced based approaches in my practice.
My focus
We are all humans and we all have days that are hard. But are your struggles negatively affecting your day-to-day life, your relationships, or your views on others more than just once in while? I have a great outcome helping the individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, PTSD, the individuals who are currently facing the challenges life has thrown at them, or the individuals who are having relational problems with siblings, parents or other family members.
My communication style
I am a strong believer that client-therapist relationship plays a major role in your healing journey. Creating a trustworthy environment where you feel safe and secure to open up is very important to me.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was a friend with a therapist and was also on a receiving end of therapy when I was in college and I witnessed the benefits of therapy and how it changed the way I view myself and the world around me. That's when I became interested in helping others through therapy. Now that I have been a therapist for a while, I also love how fulfilling and meaningful my work is and I just truly love what I do.
My goals for you
During our first session where we will also talk about your goals. What you want to work on is most important not what I think you should work on. We will talk about your goals and will start to work together on a treatment plan that is specific to your needs and goals.
My first session with you
Our first session is going to mainly involve me briefly getting to know your problems through asking questions and me just being curious about you. Feel free to add things you think I should know even if I don't ask.
