Hi there, I'm Kenya!

For me, holistic healthy requires that we create a balance between mind, body, and spirit. As a practitioner for the last 14 years, I have sought to help clients learn to ground themselves in their understanding of self through intentional self-awareness and the understanding of how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors impact their reality. By addressing these parts holistically, clients are then able to move toward healing and creating a stronger “foundational self”. "In the end there doesn’t have to be anyone who understands you. There just has to be someone who wants to." Robert Brault

My approach

Since I recognize that clients are unique and come with their own distinctive experiences, I would describe my approach as explorative, integrative, trauma-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and holistic.

My focus

Since my work is grounded in tending to a client’s core emotional needs, I strive to create a safe and reliable environment where clients are able to freely express themselves.

My communication style

My therapeutic tone is reflective, processing, and understanding with clients to create a non-restrictive space that honors flexibility and nuance where both the client and myself can navigate which strategies and methods are the most effective. Through this process, clients are allowed to grow in their own self-awareness, and their understanding of their needs and wants which provides them with the ability to progress mentally, physically, and spiritually.

My journey to mental healthcare

"In the end there doesn’t have to be anyone who understands you. There just has to be someone who wants to." Robert Brault

My goals for you

As a therapist, my desire is to gain an understanding of my client’s needs and wants while working collaboratively with them to establish meaningful goals specific to their individual needs.

My first session with you

The focus of an initial session is to establish rapport while determining each other's role in our work together. Clients are encouraged to offer transparency surrounding challenges, struggles, and barriers that might impact the work. Additionally, clients are asked to share their strengths, resiliencies and what has helped them along their journey thus far. My role is to offer understanding, patience, and space through exploration while processing what might be necessary for the work.
