I am Aldo P. Hernandez, LCSW and my approach to therapy can be direct for efficiency, psycho-dynamic for understanding, and thought-provoking for awareness. My focus areas of practice are solution focus and recovery to have the life you've wanted because it is possible.
My approach
I use the Cognitive Behavior Therapy model and Motivational Interviewing to assess and address issues for better living. I also focus on Behavior Change and Behavior Rehearsal as behaviors are what everyone sees.
My focus
I work well with young adults 19 and over, young professionals, and established professionals as well. If you are ready for change and not just talk about issues or problems, we will work well together.
My communication style
Former clients have said the sessions are sobering, helpful, and truthful, which is what they were looking for. I can be honest, and truthful while being direct so there is no confusion in the new messages designed specifically for you, for change.
My journey to mental healthcare
As common as it sounds, I enjoy helping others, in my case, giving clients information for a better living as well as a listening ear. I work well with people and the attraction is seeing people make progress by changing old behaviors. This is thrilling to me.
My goals for you
In the initial session, we discuss the issues and develop a plan of duties to do, that follow along with the goals the client desires.
My first session with you
Clients can expect a time for introductions and then an opportunity to discuss what has going on and what brought them to therapy.
