Hello, I’m Steve, a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) specializing in PTSD, combat-related trauma, military family support, work-related stress, and anxiety. I utilize a blend of Client-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to create a supportive and non-judgmental space for personal growth and healing. My goal is to help you navigate life's challenges and achieve meaningful, lasting change.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is grounded in creating a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where you feel heard and valued. I primarily use Client-Centered Therapy, which emphasizes unconditional positive regard and empathy, alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. By integrating these approaches, I tailor each session to your unique needs, empowering you to achieve personal growth and lasting change.
My focus
My client focus is on individuals experiencing PTSD, combat-related trauma, military family challenges, work-related stress, and anxiety. I also specialize in couples therapy, men's therapeutic concerns, executive and leadership counseling, clergy support, and depression treatment. I am most comfortable treating these conditions and committed to providing a supportive and empathetic space for clients to navigate their personal challenges and achieve their mental wellness goals.
My communication style
My communication style is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental, with a touch of humor to lighten the mood when appropriate. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves openly. Working with me feels collaborative and empowering, as I am dedicated to listening actively and providing personalized guidance to help you navigate your journey towards mental wellness.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to becoming a therapist began with a deep-seated desire to help others navigate their personal struggles and achieve mental wellness. After spending 20 years in corporate America, I witnessed firsthand the toll that stress and work-related pressures can take on individuals. This experience, combined with nearly a decade of military counseling and combat deployment, opened my eyes to the profound impact that trauma and stress can have on individuals and families. What drives me in this work is the privilege of witnessing my clients' growth and resilience as they overcome challenges and find their path to healing. Helping others transform their lives and achieve lasting change is incredibly rewarding and motivates me to continually improve my skills and approach.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting with clients by fostering a collaborative and individualized process. Together, we identify your unique needs, aspirations, and challenges, and then develop clear, achievable goals that align with your values and priorities. By incorporating techniques from Client-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, we create a structured yet flexible plan that empowers you to track progress and make meaningful strides toward personal growth and mental wellness.
My first session with you
