As a licensed clinician with over 15 years of experience, I have worked with clients of various ages and cultural backgrounds, providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy in a wide range of settings. My skill set includes crisis intervention, anger management, mood and anxiety issues, substance use and other compulsive behaviors, trauma-related concerns, and personality disorders.
My approach
My approach to therapy is personalized to meet each client's unique needs. I employ a variety of CBT, DBT, and ACT therapeutic strategies to help clients achieve their goals. I also incorporate an integrative approach, emphasizing daily movement, balanced nutrition, and adequate sleep in the treatment planning process.
My focus
I specialize in working with individuals dealing with mood disorders, anxiety, anger management, substance use, and other compulsive behaviors, adjustment-related issues and stress management, borderline personality disorders, ADHD, and impulse-control issues. I am also willing to see couples, families, and minors aged 13-17.
My communication style
I encourage personal growth by helping clients self-reflect, expand their perspectives, and utilize their individual strengths and resources. I also facilitate clients in changing the ways they relate, think, and talk about their issues.
My journey to mental healthcare
As an immigrant who grew up in Chicago, my journey to mental healthcare began with obtaining a B.A. from North Park University and a Master's Degree focused on Counseling Psychology from Roosevelt University. I have also received certification in both partner violence and adult sexual assault/trauma counseling.
