Hi there, I'm Jeanette!

With a decade of experience as a licensed counselor, I am dedicated to helping clients navigate their unique challenges and achieve personal growth. I am experienced in supporting individuals of all ages dealing with a broad spectrum of issues, including depression, general anxiety, codependency, emotional dysregulation, and personal boundary concerns. My practice is rooted in creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their concerns and work toward meaningful change. I am particularly passionate about guiding young adults who may be feeling uncertain about their life's direction, as well as supporting mothers who seek balance between their roles as caregivers, partners, and individuals. I understand the complexities of balancing motherhood with being a wife and managing personal aspirations, and I am here to provide the support needed to help you thrive in all aspects of your life.

My approach

I utilize an integrative approach that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices to address a range of emotional and behavioral challenges. CBT: helps clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, replacing them with more balanced perspectives to improve emotional well-being and behavior. DBT: offers strategies for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, supporting clients in managing intense emotions and enhancing relationships. ACT: guides clients in embracing their thoughts and feelings with acceptance while taking committed actions aligned with their core values, fostering meaningful and purposeful living. Mindfulness: enhances self-awareness, promotes present-moment focus, and supports overall emotional regulation. In addition to these techniques, I emphasize creating a warm, supportive environment. My approach is characterized by empathy, respect, and a genuine commitment to helping clients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

My focus

My approach is deeply client-centered, prioritizing the unique needs, goals, and experiences of each individual. I am committed to understanding and respecting your personal context, values, and preferences, which guide our work together. I focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance through empathy, active listening, and a non-judgmental attitude. My goal is to empower you to develop practical strategies and insights that resonate with your life and support your journey toward well-being and personal growth.

My communication style

My communication style is warm and empathic, fostering a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship. I prioritize creating a safe space where you feel heard and understood. Through compassionate listening and genuine engagement, I strive to connect with you on a personal level, ensuring that our interactions are both respectful and validating. My approach is designed to encourage open dialogue and collaboration, helping you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings as we work together toward your goals.

My goals for you

Goal setting is a collaborative endeavor. I believe that the most effective goals are those that resonate with you personally and are aligned with your values and aspirations. Together, we’ll work to identify the areas of your life where you seek change or improvement, and I’ll provide professional guidance to help you articulate clear, achievable goals. Throughout our sessions, I’ll draw on my expertise to offer insights and strategies, but the direction we take will always be guided by your input. Whether you’re looking to improve your mental health, navigate a life transition, or enhance your personal relationships, we’ll set goals that are realistic and meaningful to you. As we progress, we’ll regularly review and adjust these goals to ensure they remain relevant and attainable, reflecting both your growth and any new challenges that arise. By working together, we can create a roadmap that not only addresses your immediate concerns but also fosters long-term personal development and well-being.

My first session with you

During the first session, I will explain the HIPAA confidentiality agreement and then use a clinical interview to gather background information that will help me understand you better. Toward the end, we will discuss your treatment goals.
